Congratulations to the Middleborough High School television production program for winning a 2025 New England Student Production Award and earning an additional honorable mention. On May 2nd, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced their winners for the annual New England Student Production Awards (SPA). Congratulations to MHS freshmen, Aaron Davis and Connor Gibbons, for winning an SPA in the Audio/Sound category for their film, This is My Project.

With little time to spare, a student gets his contest video done. With the power creative thinking and imagination, he’s able to make a video from scratch, but what’s the video?

“I’d like to thank Mr. Pelletier for providing us the materials to make this piece, my parents for giving me motivation and support along the way, and Connor for giving it his all to make this video something we can look back on as an achievement of ours. I never expected this video to win. It was more of a “get the assignment done” type of video that we could still be proud of. With so many people with so much more experience ahead of us, us winning was the last thing I could’ve guessed. Of course I’m excited that we won, but I’m even more excited to see what Connor and I can make in the future.” – Aaron Davis

“I honestly forgot about the awards and thought they already happened so I didn’t even understand the scale of my achievement at first and as a freshman is just insane. My favorite part of producing this video was doing it with people I enjoy and in a class I enjoy.” -Connor Gibbons
